When users embark on a quest for a particular item on Keral, the platform's search engine is dedicated to delivering the most pertinent results. This intricate process unfolds in two distinctive phases within the realm of organic search results.
Phase One - Query Matching In this initial stage, Keral's search engine scans through titles, attributes (e.g., color), categories, and tags embedded in each product listing. The goal is to align with the user's search terms and generate an initial set of results. This process is coined as query matching.
Phase Two - Ranking Once the search engine compiles all listings relevant to the user's query, the system employs available information about each listing and shop to rank them strategically. The aim is to present items with a higher likelihood of purchase closer to the top of the results. This phase, known as ranking, involves evaluating several factors, each carrying a distinct weight. The pivotal factors include:
Organic Highlights and Keral Ads : Keral may organically showcase a selection of shops or listings above or alongside primary search results, based on the aforementioned factors. Notably, Keral does not provide sellers the option to enhance their organic search ranking through compensation.
Exploring Keral Ads : Keral Ads operate on an auction system for ad space within Keral's properties. Sellers set a daily budget, and Keral, on their behalf, engages in a sealed bid generalized second-price auction to determine ad cost and placement. This auction dynamic ensures varying prices based on competition related to a query. Auto-bidding, managed by Keral's bid management system, optimizes bid selection for positive return on ad spend within the set budget.
Keral Ads are clearly distinguished from organic content, labeled as seller ads, sponsored content, or promoted listings.
